→Robinson Crusoe

Robinson Crusoe a novel by Daniel Defoe. This novel is about the adventure of Crusoe at incident happened with Crusoe or not? But he tries to convince us that incident happened with him.by this novel he tries to lead us towards the situation of  colonialism or master-slave relation, cdescrimination  which greatly  exist in past centuries.

                                                                                                       

Colonialism means ," to control over any region , territory and country ,than started rulling over their custom , thought , their manner and also over their lives . they try to make a colony . Generally high-class people as 'white-man ' trying to rule over or to colonize  to low-class people ,who is illiterate and unaware of social system . Thus they make master-slave  relationship.

                                   

Thus colonization had been a great impact on our lives and still influencing our manner and our lives .Colonialism can compare with Imperialism ,in this novel we found theme as racism , colour-descrimination  and master-slave relation around this theme story moved on.    

In Robinson Crusoe we can see discourse of colonialism :.

When Crusoe met Friday Crusoe gave him Christian name as 'friday ' so there we see thought process in mind of Crusoe.crusoe taught Friday language and English words . Crusoe also suggest Friday to call him as ,'master' so indirectly Friday became his 'slave' . Another thing is that crusoe try to convince Friday for religion ,'christianity' but Friday denied to accept it.                                                
Crusoe suggest Friday to believe in God but Friday  talks about his God, "pokkya" and "cocodrial "  that he exist in water and in nature. crusoe also try to establish manner of 'white-man ' to Friday that ,→"to wear clothes is good than to be necked ."← Here we can say white man trying to convince to colonize 'cannibals'.Other thing that crusoe instructs Friday about everything , so there is a element of master-slave relation.                                                                                                    

→Elements of colonialism in contemporary life:            

                                                             

we can said that colonialism  influence us much in terms of  manner , language , life- style and thought process. As we know in  India ,'british people' ruled for many years. They try to colonize India and people . there is a still impact of on our lives of them in language , study and life-style.                                                                                                          

            

Another example of  colonialism is that we deeply colonized by outside countries that in European countries  they wear coat for their health and to protect body from coldness, whereas we wear coat in marriage . They have not available milk and juce for that they have to drink 'cold drink' , but we have '36' types of drink , though we drink 'cold drink' as a unhealthy product .                                                                                    

 So we feel proud to have this type of understanding , maturity but it is only colonization , not our original system.

                                                                                           

Movie is different than book:.                         

•  In book we can see'friday ' never left Crusoe always with him but in movie Friday left him , as Crusoe want him as a companion and a 'best friend' .                                              
• In novel Friday accept Crusoe's religion and believe in it,but in movie Friday talks about his God 'pokkya' and ' 'cocodrial' .                  
• In novel there is a angel who said Crusoe for repentance to the God and a religious conversation , but in movie this thing is not shown.                                                                  
• Crusoe's personal life,about his parents , wife , his disobedience , repentance this thing is not in movie.                                                                                                                          

Anti-colonial elements :.                              

In novel theme was colonialism but Crusoe's behavior  towards Friday was not like master-slave but he behaves with Friday as a best friend or as a 'companion' . Crusoe taught him language and words as many things . But when Friday left him , he became very sad for it.                                      

When there was a fighting between them at that time Friday said ,'kill me'  but Crusoe wanted that Friday have to go back to his family and his people .                                                                                                                      
In this novel we can see various theme, which is related to us and our country. There is also a good relation between white man and cannibals.
